Mayor of the City of Nyíregyháza visits Krakow

Ferenc Kovács, Mayor of Nyíregyháza, a capital of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county in northeastern Hungary, together with representatives of leading tourist centers arrived in Krakow on 14th June to present their region.

During a meeting with the Mayor of the City of Krakow Hungarian guests expressed their satisfaction with the growing number of Krakow citizens choosing their picturesque city as a tourist destination. Nyíregyháza is famous for its medicinal salt lake, placed in a vast forest, in which a huge variety of attractions, such as famous zoo, spa resort, adventure park and open-air museum, are waiting for visitors of all ages.

The City of Nyíregyháza cooperates closely with three Polish cities: Rzeszów, Gorlice and Chorzów. They cooperate to benefit from the financial support of European Union funds used for further development of infrastructure. The City of Krakow is well-recognized among the inhabitants of Nyíregyháza: there is an active Polish community, represented in local government, and a Polish-Hungarian friendship society organizing a variety of cultural events.
