Sandomierz Tower

Constructed circa mid 15th century in the south-east corner of the Gothic defensive walls encircling Wawel Hill in the past. Covered with a cone-shaped roof, the top storey hanged over corbels. In the basement there used to be a dungeon, and – according to tradition – the nobility of the Sandomierz land were held captive here. The Gothic stone window frames remain to this day.
