Consular Matters during the WYD
Numerous institutions involved in preparing and carrying out the events will also include consular offices. With such an enormous number of foreign visitors, problems related to passports visas etc. are likely to appear.
That is why the Department of Citizen's Affairs of the Małopolska Provincial Office is preparing a special guide that would present, in detail, the scope of its activity during the WYD. The Department will have longer working hours or even work 24 hrs a day.
The consular offices operating in Krakow, both general and honorary, also declared to grant priority status to all inquiries of public administration bodies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will delegate their employees to act as intermediaries between foreign diplomatic offices and Polish institutions. In the countries from which a large number of pilgrims are expected, additional staff will strengthen the efficiency of consular service. It is considered to create mobile consular units in the countries not having permanent Polish consular offices.
