Free admission to Krakow Zoo during WYD 2016

Following the decision of Krakow City Mayor Jacek Majchrowski, pilgrims, tourists and citizens will be offered free admission to the Zoo during World Youth Day 2016, between 26th and 31st July.

At the Krakow Zoo you may observe over 1300 animals from all the continents and environments many of them representing the endangered species. The most popular are: Rothschild giraffe, Przewalski horses, pygmy hippopotamus, little panda, red panda, snow leopard, Amur tiger, maned wolf, Addax, chimpanzees, black-and-white ruffed lemur, ring-tailed lemur, Asian elephant, Andean condor and recently acquired Humboldt penguins especially liked by the youngest visitors of zoological garden.

The Krakow Zoo is located in Lasek Wolski (Wolski forest). With numerous walking and cycling paths it is Cracovians’ favorite place for spending their leisure time. Nearby you may also find historic monuments such as, among others, Józef Piłsudski mound and Camaldolese monastery among others.        

Between 26 and 31 July 2016 Krakow Zoo will be open from 9 a.m. until 7.30 p.m.
