It was here, in Krakow’s main Market Square, that on March 24th 1794 Tadeusz Kościuszko took a solemn pledge and became the leader of the General Uprising. Consequently, Krakow has a number of places and venues named after the national hero with the Kościuszko Mound and the Kościuszko Monument in the Wawel Hill counting among the most popular landmarks. Kosiuszko is also a link between Krakow and Solura. Now one of Krakow’s partner cities, Solura was once home to Tadeusz Kościuszko. The Polish general died in the Swiss town on October 15th 1817.Solura still celebrates the Polish hero and his achievements. The visitors can explore Kościuszko’s museum while in town.

On Thursday, February 2nd in Wszystkich Świetych Square an outdoor exhibition dedicated to Kościuszko was launched. Come see the exhibition and learn more about Kościuszko!
