The competition commenced on Wednesday 19th of April and will last for a month until 19th of May. Anyone with access to the internet can visit www.scotweb.co.uk/krakow and design a pattern (terms and conditions apply).

The winner of the competition will be selected by the people of Krakow, who will vote for their favourite pattern in June 2017. The main prize is a weekend in Krakow for two (including flights, accomodation and free entries to the City's main attractions) sponsored by the City of Krakow and the Scottish Polish Cultural Association. The winning design will be then woven into fabric and presented to the Mayor of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski during the Scottish Polish Tartan Festival: Scottish Tartan for Krakow in September 2017.

There are no age or nationality limits for the contestants.

The Scottish Polish Tartan Festival: Scottish Tartan for Krakow is organised by the Scottish Polish Cultural Association in collaboration with the City of Edinburgh Council, the City of Krakow, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh, DC Dalgliesh, Scotweb.co.uk, Polish Cultural Festival Association and the Polish Society at the University of Edinburgh.
