Open Day at the Krakow City Hall!

Graffiti in Urban Spaces is the leading theme of this year's edition of the Open Day at the Krakow City Hall. The event will run over two days (June 2nd and 3rd), gathering graffiti experts and artists representing also our foreign partner cities.

The Open Day, being part of the Cite Fete, is traditionally held in early June. The event is a chance for all locals and tourists to visit the buildings and offices otherwise occupied by municipal officers. The visitors can also get better acquainted with particular projects in the many spheres of municipal management.

Graffiti is definitely one of the most controversial issues for many contemporary cities. That is why the organizers of the event decided to focus on this urgent problem, at the same time creating a platform for the exchange of experiences involving Krakow's foreign partners. The experts will discuss ways of combating illegal graffiti and gather ideas for how to exploit this art form for the benefit of the local community. The visitors will also have a chance to see professional graffiti artists in action! On Sunady (June 2nd) from noon until 4 p.m. , in front of the City Hall, artists form Krakow's partner cities such as Frankfurt, Bordeaux, Lviev, Orleans, Rochester, Nuremberg or Leipzig will be working, focusing on the theme of: My City.

When the Open Day closes, the experts will take over. During the Graffiti in Urban Spaces seminar, Krakovian practitioners will be joined by their colleagues from Florence, Vienna, Vilnius, Rochester, Tbilisi, Trondheim, Moscow and Sankt Petersburg.

Krakow's cooperation with international partners will also be emphasized during the Open Day with an exhibition showcasing the most interesting foreign entries from the Commemorative Book of the Mayor of Krakow.

Come and join us at the Krakow city Hall!
