Krakow and Samarkand – possible cooperation
The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Warsaw initiated the first official visit of Mr. Ikrom Nazarov - the Embassy's Charge d‘Affaires - in Krakow
On 13th June (Monday) Mr. Nazarov visited the Mayor of the City of Krakow. The meeting was held in order to make first contact which in future might develop into multi-layered cooperation between the cities.
Mr. Ikrom Nazarov, in Poland for merely 2 months, is an active diplomat trying to revive the cooperiation between Poland and Uzbekistan. He supports numerous Polish and Uzbek business ventures. His plans also include possible cooperation in the fields of education and culture. This is why, appreciating Krakow's cultural and academic output as well as its economic potential the guest confirmed the readiness of the city of Samarkand to sign a partnership agreement with Krakow. Mr. Nazarov presented the Krakow's Mayor with an invitation to Samarkand in order to continue discussing the potential cooperation.
Mayor Jacek Majchrowski, in resonse to Ikrom Nazarov's proposals, expressed Krakow's readiness to involve in joint ventures which might initiate future cooperation and in consequence lead to the signing of a cooperation agreement between the cities.
