Kraków has been included in the latest ranking of the “50 Best Cities in the World for 2026”, prepared by the British magazine Time Out. As the only city from Poland in the list, the capital of the Małopolska Region ranked an impressive 16th place globally.
The ranking was based on a survey conducted among more than 24,000 city residents worldwide, as well as the opinions of Time Out editors and over 100 experts cooperating with the magazine. The evaluation considered aspects such as gastronomy, culture and access to green spaces, reflecting the overall attractiveness of cities both for residents and visitors. The top spot in the ranking went to Melbourne, while Edinburgh and London represent Europe among the highest-ranked cities.
Kraków placed 16th, ahead of cities such as Porto, Madrid and Valencia. According to the authors of the ranking, the city stands out for its rich history, vibrant culture, atmospheric districts and dynamic urban life.
The city is also renowned for its well-preserved architecture, numerous cultural events – including the Great Dragon Parade and the Kraków Christmas Market – as well as its acclaimed gastronomy, such as the local street food scene in Kazimierz and the only restaurant in Poland awarded two Michelin stars.
