On 27 May, Kraków became Poland’s culinary capital as the host city of the first-ever nationwide Michelin Guide selection for Poland. During a gala ceremony held at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, the list of restaurants awarded Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmand distinctions and Michelin Guide recommendations for 2026 was officially announced.
This year’s edition of the Guide is the first to cover the entire country, marking a milestone for Poland’s gastronomic scene. Since 2023, Polish restaurants have been eligible for inclusion in the prestigious publication; however, previous selections covered only several regions, including Małopolska, Mazovia and Wielkopolska, later expanding to Pomerania and Lower Silesia. Thanks to the sustained efforts of the Polish Tourism Organisation, this year’s Guide features restaurants from across the country, further strengthening Poland’s position on Europe’s culinary map.
The Michelin Guide Poland 2026 Gala was also held for the first time, with Kraków serving as host city. The event sends a strong signal that Kraków is consistently and successfully building its reputation as one of Poland’s leading culinary tourism destinations and reinforcing its standing among Europe’s top gastronomic centres.
The latest edition of the Michelin Guide features 196 restaurants of which 10 received Michelin Stars, while 19 were awarded new Bib Gourmand distinctions.
Kraków’s Bottiglieria 1881 remains the only restaurant in Poland to hold Two Michelin Stars. It has retained this prestigious distinction for the fourth consecutive year, confirming its exceptional position within the country’s culinary landscape.
Particular recognition also goes to Ida Malec of Nat Bistro, who received the Young Chef Award. The jury praised her culinary maturity and remarkable achievements at an early stage of her career, recognising her as one of Poland’s most promising young chefs.
To further explore the flavours of the city, visitors are invited to discover Kraków’s newest tourist route, the Historic Kraków Culinary Trail.
