Kraków councillors end cooperation with Moscow and St Petersburg

At a session held on 2 March 2022 the Kraków City Council passed a resolution to strongly oppose Russia's act of aggression in Ukraine. It also unanimously decided to end Kraków's cooperation with Russian partner cities Moscow and St Petersburg.

The Council expresses its solidarity with the Ukrainian people and its strong protest against the actions of the authorities of the Russian Federation and its President Vladimir Putin to destabilise peace in Europe.

While categorically condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine, a resolution was adopted to discontinue partnership with Moscow and St Petersburg. It should be noted that the cooperation programme between Moscow and Kraków ended in 2013 and since then cooperation has been practically non-existent. In turn, the indefinite partnership agreement between Kraków and St. Petersburg in recent years has not been very active.
