Independence Day of Pakistan

On 14 August Pakistan is celebrating National Holiday. It marks the announcement of Pakistan’s independence from Great Britain.

Pakistan emerged in 1947 from a British India but the British Monarch appointed Governor-General to represent his rule, in the next four years, until the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been officially proclaimed in 1956.
