National Day of Sweden

On 6 June Swedes celebrate their National Day. It commemorates two important events in the history of the country, proclamation of Gustav Vasa as King of Sweden in 1523 and adopting the constitution in 1809. 

On the National Day Swedes decorate their homes with national flags and if the weather is nice, they eagerly spend time outdoors going for picnics or short trips.
