Dutch trade mission visits Kraków – talks on mobility and cycling infrastructure
On Thursday, 24 September, Stanisław Kracik, Acting Mayor of Kraków, welcomed participants of a Dutch trade mission to the Kraków City Hall. The mission was organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and led by Huub von Frijtag Drabbe, Economic Counsellor of the Embassy. The meeting was also attended by Patrick den Bult, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kraków.
The mission brought together representatives of 15 Dutch companies interested in mobility, urban logistics and cycling infrastructure solutions used in Polish cities.
Cooperation with partners from the Netherlands is of particular interest to Kraków, given the country’s extensive experience in taking an integrated approach to mobility.
The programme of the visit included presentations and discussions on, among other topics, the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the Kraków Metropolitan Area, cycling policy and infrastructure, as well as initiatives supporting active mobility.
Representatives of the Municipal Services and Infrastructure Department and the Public Transport Authority of Kraków presented solutions currently in place in the city. An important part of the visit was a field tour, during which the delegation had an opportunity to see Kraków’s solutions for pedestrian and cycling mobility, parking and transport in practice.
The visit to Kraków was part of a four-day trade mission organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warsaw. Before arriving in Kraków, the delegation visited Wrocław and Katowice.
