Marie Curie Alumni Association Annual Conference and General Assembly
AGH University of Krakow hosted the Marie Curie Alumni Association Annual Conference and General Assembly on March 21–22, 2025, with satellite events held from March 19–20.

The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) is an international non-profit organisation established by the European Commission to support beneficiaries of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). As the EU’s flagship program for doctoral education and postdoctoral training, MCAA fosters research excellence and professional development. Today, MCAA is a dynamic global network of over 22,000 members from 155 countries, organised into 37 geographical chapters and nine working groups.
The event was organised with the support of the MCAA Poland Chapter, the Faculty of Energy and Fuels, and the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics. We would also like to acknowledge the support of the Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science. As a leader in modern energy technologies, fuel technologies, and decarbonisation research, the Faculty of Energy and Fuels (WEiP) at AGH University was proud to support the organisation of this prestigious event. WEiP trains specialists in energy, chemical technology, and environmental protection, building strong industry connections and fostering international cooperation. The Faculty of Materials Engineering and Ceramics is a leading centre for research and education in advanced materials, ceramics, and glass technologies, fostering innovation and industry collaboration.
This landmark conference, hosted in the historic city of Krakow, gathered renowned researchers, academic professionals, representatives of the European Commission, national and state officials, and key figures from the research and innovation sectors. The conference was held both online and in person, creating a unique platform for global collaboration and engagement. Under the theme "Research and Innovation in a Rapidly Evolving World," the conference explored crucial topics such as sustainable research policy, innovation, diversity and inclusion, and other global challenges. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the City of Krakow, highlighting its significance on both the European and global research landscape. Complementary events and projects, including those under the Erasmus+ program and supported by the European Commission, further enriched the agenda.
