Kraków's acts of solidarity with Ukraine

Practical information on Krakow's support of Ukrainian citizens is regularly updated on the OPEN KRAKÓW website. Below we list some of the actions currently taking place in our city.

Fundraisers


There are several fundraisers organised at the moment by several organisations working for the benefit of Ukrainians and Ukraine. You can donate money to any of them! The list of organisations can be found here.

27 February 2022 - A concert for Ukraine in the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre


This Sunday, 27 February, a concert in solidarity with UKRAINE will take place on the Big Stage of the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow at 7 pm. Artists from the Słowacki Theatre, as well as Ukrainian and Polish friends will perform on stage. Tickets, which have a symbolic price of 3 zlotys, are available at the box office and online. During the concert, the Polish-Ukrainian Zustricz Foundation will organize a fundraising campaign for Ukraine. The funds raised will be used to support refugees arriving in Krakow from war-stricken Ukraine.

25 February 2022 - Volunteers wanted!


The Multicultural Centre in Kraków is looking for volunteers speaking Ukrainian and Russian who would like to get involved in the Ukrainian community in our city. Details here.

25 February 2022 - Collection for Lviv
 

Kraków is preparing aid requested by the mayor of Lviv. Anyone can bring the most needed items to a collection point located at the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium (open daily from 12.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m). Entrance from the car park at Reymonta Street. The collection will last until further notice. See what is needed.

Update (27 February 2022): Dear citizens of Kraków, wonderful donors. We have to limit our collection of aid to Lviv. Transfer of goods though the border has been interrupted and our warehouses are already full. Your donations will reach Ukraine as soon as possible.

24 February 2022 - Kraków lights up blue and yellow


The Board of Emitel have decided to illuminate the TV tower Krzemionki in Ukrainian national colours from 24 February until further notice.

The screens of the TAURON Arena Krakow on the evening of 24 February displayed the inscription "Kraków in solidarity with Ukraine".

24 February 2022 - Help for athletes from Ukraine


A group of 11 Ukrainian canoeists who stayed at the Kolna Canoe Slalom Centre at training camp will remain in Kraków. The athletes have been accommodated at the Kolna hotel.

24 February 2022 - The Bolesław bell sounded for Ukraine
 

At 12.15 p.m. the Bolesław bell tolled on the Town Hall tower. In the Middle Ages the bell was used to alarm and warn the townspeople of imminent danger. Today it rang out as a gesture of solidarity with Ukraine.
