The Consulate General of Georgia in Kraków is the newest diplomatic mission established in our city. Consul General Ioseb Khakhaleishvili began his mission in February 2025.

His greatest challenge at present is finding a location for the consulate’s headquarters. This issue was one of the main topics discussed with Mayor Aleksander Miszalski during their first official meeting, which took place on Monday, 30 June 2025.

The Mayor expressed his willingness to assist in the search by offering options within the city’s municipal property portfolio. The conversation also touched on the cooperation between Kraków and Tbilisi, based on the partnership agreements signed every three years since 2009. A regular element of this relationship is the annual city celebration – Tbilisoba – to which representatives of Tbilisi’s partner cities, including Kraków, are invited.

As Consul General Khakhaleishvili previously served as Mayor of Kutaisi, Georgia’s second-largest city, the possibility of future cooperation with that city was also discussed.
Cultural exchange – especially considering the world-renowned Georgian ballet – could become an appealing area for mutual engagement.
