National Day of Romania
Today Romanians celebrate Great Union Day.
On 1 December 1918 in Alba Julia the National Assembly comprised of 1228 delegates of ethnic Romanians from Transylvania, Banat, Crisana and Maramures declared the Union of Transylvania and the provinces of Bessarabia and Bukovina with Romania.
