Kraków Rover Wins International Competition in Turkey
The AGH Space Systems team has won the Anatolian Rover Challenge 2026, an international planetary rover competition in Turkey, beating 19 teams from around the world. This is another success for Kraków’s young engineers, who are developing innovative technologies for future space exploration.
The competition took place in Turkey from 29 July to 1 August. Participants faced tasks simulating missions on Mars and the Moon, including collecting and analysing soil samples, autonomous navigation in challenging terrain and activities related to the operation of a future lunar base.
The “Kalman” rover, working together with teams from Rzeszów University of Technology and Yıldız Technical University, completed all tasks flawlessly and achieved the maximum possible score. The success demonstrates the high level of expertise of Kraków’s students and confirms AGH’s strong position among academic teams developing space technologies.
In just a few weeks, the award-winning AGH Space Systems team will showcase its skills at the European Rover Challenge in Kraków.
